1/16" NPT Laminar Flow Coolant Nozzle | CNC Precision Nozzle | M08 Series
A precision coolant nozzle that actually goes where you aim it.
The M08 1/16" NPT Laminar Flow Coolant Nozzle threads directly into any port tapped for 1/16" NPT and replaces your existing fitting and nozzle with a tight, focused, high-velocity stream you can point exactly at the cutting edge.
The assembly comes in three pieces the base, 3/8" nozzle, and the cap. Install is easy, first thread the base into the 1/16" NPT connection and tighten with the 5/32" Allen wrench until tight. Next put the nozzle in the cap, and last thread the cap onto the base until it is hand tight.
What "laminar flow" actually means. When coolant leaves the end of a standard coolant nozzle it is so turbulent the coolant separates into droplets and spreads out into a cone, meaning most of it doesn’t even hit the tool. Laminar flow just means the coolant exits as a glass-smooth, unbreaking stream instead of a turbulent spray. You can aim it like a laser. More coolant reaches the cut. Heat drops. Chips break and clear. Tool life goes up. (Watch the comparison video — the difference is obvious in three seconds.)
Why machinists are switching:
- Get more out of your existing coolant system. A unified jet delivers more cutting-edge cooling per gallon pumped; no need for higher pressure or bigger pumps to get the result.
- Better chip control. A coherent jet acts as a hydraulic wedge, lifting chips off the rake face, breaking them, and flushing them out of the cut.
- Longer tool life and cleaner finishes. Heat is the enemy. Hit it where it's generated and inserts last longer, surfaces come out cleaner.
- Lights-out friendly. Fewer chip nests, fewer recut surprises, fewer 2 a.m. crashes.
- Threads into what you already own. 1/16" NPT thread fits most common CNC lathe and mill ball-seat coolant manifolds.
Choose your configuration:
Pick the length you need to reach the cut, and the angle you need to clear tools, work holding and part geometry.
| Length | Best For |
|
Short |
Deep drilling, short / low stick-out tools, offered in Straight only. |
|
Medium |
General turning and milling, offered in Straight, 25°, or 40°. |
|
Long |
Long tools, offered in Straight, 25°, or 40°. |
Nozzle Specifications:
- Material: Solid brass
- Ball diameter: 3/8 in.
- Tested pressure: 1,000 PSI (water sol coolant / oil)
Fitting Specifications:
- Material: 303 Stainless Steel
- Thread: 1/16" NPT male
- Drive: 5/32" Hex
- Ball-seat: 3/8 in.
We recommend running filtered coolant with these nozzles. They can tolerate 1-2 of the back holes being blocked by chips, but you will notice a decrease in performance.
